It covers the last major area of rock art in northern England and providess a full account of the geographical and landscape settings of all sites. The main focus is Fylingdales Moor near Ravenscar, which includes the publicly acclaimed linear marked stone. Details of all known rock art sites in the region are included with particular reference to the diversity and variety of motifs, together with information on the associated archaeology of the surrounding landscape.
